Frequently Asked Questions About Self-Adhesive Vinyl

Where won't self-adhesive vinyl stick?

Although our vinyls are designed to stick almost anywhere, avoid dusty, greasy, or damp surfaces. They also don't work well with unprimed popcorn walls or untreated wood. If the base is smooth, dry, and clean, your Lokoloko vinyl will look perfect.

Are there any disadvantages to self-adhesive vinyls?

More than disadvantages, we'd say they have their tricks. They require a smooth base, and if they're placed in areas with extreme humidity or intense heat, you'll need to choose the right finish. If you install them carefully (and with our help in the video tutorials!), the result is impeccable.

How long does a Lokoloko vinyl last?

It depends on where you put it and the finish you choose. Indoors, it will last 5-8 years like new, and outdoors, it can easily last between 3 and 5 years, withstanding water, heat, and daily cleaning. They're built to last.

What is self-adhesive vinyl used for?

How do I make it adhere better?

Very easy: clean the surface well (a cloth with alcohol and that's it), make sure it's dry, and use a spatula to smooth it from the center outwards. A Lokoloko trick? Give it a little heat with a hairdryer on corners and edges: it sticks better and looks great.

How long does it take to fully set?

Once applied, it's already in place, but the adhesive needs 24-48 hours to fully set. During that time, it's best not to rub it with scouring pads or get it wet directly. Afterwards... you can even clean it daily without fear!
